Dailycollegefootball.com ran into some Happy Happy Happy fans in Nashville,Tn. at the Music City Bowl. What a fun time it was even though LSU lost to Notre Dame by the score of 31-28. A big day for Leonard Fournette with 3 tds, and 258 rushing yards and all-purpose yards. Fournette had three big plays, 100 yards kickoff return, a 89 yard scamper down the field, and a 12 yard run into the endzone. LSU went thru alot even before the game finding out from John Chavis that he accepted the Texas AM Job. I don’t know why Chavis had to tell the team that, could he have waited until after the game, or talk to Texas AM the following New Years Day and focus on winning the game. I am amazed, why could you just wait til the game or season was over. That’s the way this season has been with the LSU Tigers one break after another, and this happens.
The LSU Team went thru alot this season, a young squad, being put at no.8th in the nation losing to Miss State at home, Jennings struggling with New Mexico State, losing to Auburn 42-7 after starting Harris the freshman. It’s been an interesting ride for sure for the Tigers. The big game of the year of course was knocking off Ole Miss. Wallace jawing with the LSU Fans behind his bench, bad move Wallace, never jaw with the LSU Fans……. and LSU almost beating Alabama which was famous for the call by the ref, as Les Miles said in the Press room, changed the complexion of the game, and I must say after covering LSU Football on the sidelines for 2 years, Les Miles never says too much about the calls on the field. The season went on as they travel up to Arkansas and played in some cold weather, and the Hogs were looking for their 1st SEC win in 17 try’s and won 17-0 over the Tigers. So it’s been a somewhat trying year for the Tigers, and for LSU to go up to College Station and hand the Aggies a 23-17 lost was impressive. The last game of the season going to Music City Bowl to play to Notre Dame and to compete against a team that almost beat FSU, which they really won that game. The Irish were on a 4 game losing streak, so I am sure LSU was thinking, this win could be in the bag, but not when Qb Zaire is walking into the endzone for a touchdown and the receiver for Notre Dame is skipping into the endzone like a ballerina, amazing. The famous question of the day would be where was the defense and the defensive coordinator for the LSU Tigers.
