LSU loses in College Station 68-62 as the Aggies make more free throws and inside buckets.

LSU fell behind early in the game as Aggies House and Jones took control of the game and went up 21-10. LSU jumped back into the game thanks to 3 threes by Hornsby that put LSU in the lead. LSU was up 36-29 with 5 seconds left in the half, as a Aggie guard threw up a prayer only for Roberson from the Aggies catch the miss 3 pt shot and laid it up  before the clock ran out. Something told me right then and there when I was watching the game on the SEC Network, I had a bad feeling about that last second basket even though LSU was leading 36-31 going into halftime. You can’t let the opposing team on their home court catch balls in mid-air and make lay ups as time expires.

LSU got a 8 pt lead, but as time went on instead of feeding the ball into Martin and Mickey, the guards starting taking 3 point shots. My question is why is Martin taking three-point shots, Gray walks in misses a layup, and no production from Mickey. If Mickey scores 15 points LSU easily beats Texas AM, also Quarterman at 6ft 6 and 185 lbs trying to take it inside. Quarterman go hit the weights in the offseason, eat some pizza drink some beer put on 15 pounds of muscle then bring it inside. Quarterman was guarding House from the Aggies, House finished 20 pts on the night. House took a 30 ft three and swished it, Quarterman was about 4 feet away as the 6’7 Aggie pulled up from downtown. Quarterman was also 3-11 from the field with 3 threes, he had 5 steals and 8 assists and 9 points from the field. Brian Bridgewater had a good night off the bench with 9 pts 6 rebounds and 1 block.

The question is who is the point guard for LSU, who is running the offense, is it Quarterman, Patterson or Gray, and who are the shooters, and why does everyone try to be the superstar, there should be more assits from each player,Quarterman and Hornsby are the only players passing the ball, and Patterson had no assists. LSU has some soul searching to do to see how far they go. The best thing for them if they make it to the 64 tourney, hopefully they stay far away from Kentucky and Texas AM, especially AM, it seems they know how to beat LSU.

When you have a 8 pt lead you don’t need to take three’s, you need to send the ball down low and get 10 ft shots or foul shots, and that’s where LSU only had 10 attempts from the line, compared to Texas AM with 26, AM made 14 which equalled to 14 points and LSU made 8 which gave them 8pts, that’s a 6 pt difference which was the difference of the game Texas AM 68 LSU 62.
