Dailycollegefootball.com resides about two and half hours away from South Bend, Indiana, in the heart of Chicago. As we go down to Starbucks in Lombard,IL I am hearing talk from the local fans that are rooting for Notre Dame and they believe Notre Dame is gonna win the game and there is no doubt in their voice, knowing Brian Kelly has turned the program around in less than 2 years.I am not too surprise by what I am hearing.I lived on the west coast for 22 years, and everyone rant and raved about the PAC 12,that was during the Bill Walsh days at Stanford, and Pete Carrol days at USC.I have a good friend Joe, who owns a pest control turn of the century, best pest control business in the Coachella Valley, who used to take me to USC Games in L.A.. A group of us went when Reggie Bush and co ran over UCLA in 2005 66 to 19, that was a crazy game.Well getting back to the Notre Dame Fans they really believe they will Roll the Tide, interesting.I was listening to a guest speaker on the Paul Finebaum Show and he laid out what The Irish need to do to win,Notre Dame has the best front 7 in college football so they can stop the run,and Alabama did not run to well against LSU or Texas A&M,and they loss one of those games, actually with a miracle pass from McCarron to Yeldon for the final score of the LSU Game,if that didn’t happen Alabama would not be in the Championship Game, with the same game plan they barely squeak by Georgia.Back to Notre Dame game plan, the Irish need to run the ball, and throw down the field to their big tight ends who will gather up the needed 1st downs, if they play like that and drive the ball down the field and manage the clock well, then they could pull off an upset over the Crimson Tide, even if the Irish are favored to lose by 8.5 points they really believe they will win the game, if that happens Knute Rocke will be cheering from where ever he is. I think America likes an underdog and they do want to a new champion from a different conference, but don’t count out Alabama just yet, they are taking care of business just like they always have in the last two years as they put on their hard hats and go to work, you don’t hear anything in the newspapers about Alabama players they just play football, and there’s no smack talk. I remember last year when a Alabama linebacker said they would trade all their awards for a BCS Championship, well as we all know they got the awards and the Championship Title as they beat LSU 21 to 0.Well I guess we have to wait and see the outcome of the game,if Alabama gets behind in the game and the Notre Dame defense tightens up on D,we might be looking at a new BCS Champion, for Alabama to play catch up ball is not in their cards, and Notre Dame defense is probably the best in the country. The rumor around the mill, if Nick Saban wins he is back to the NFL, perhaps next stop Cleveland.
