SEC Football rules again, alittle football and politics

Hello folks how you doing out there. Hope all is well, I must say if you get a chance to travel and go on a road trip, do it. There has been alot of things in the football world as of late, somethings we want to forget about and somethings we don’t mind remembering. Of course everyone knows the SEC is back on top of football, yes everyone knows the Alabama Crimson Tide are champs again for the 3rd time since 2010, that fellow Nick Saban just keeps rolling along and ended up with the no.1 class again for 2016, with LSU in some websites a close 2nd, not to shabby for Coach Miles at LSU. I am out on the West Coast again, and it is a beautiful place, the mountains in California are incredible and nothing but blue skies. One things for sure the price of gas is about 2.20 per gallon, some places you could find them at 1.99 a gallon. If you go to a restaurant here the prices are expensive, like two pork buns with bbq sauce, and a side of cole slaw, $16, that is a big jump, and a normal pint of beer is $6 or $7, my ole my, Southern California says it because of the minimum wage going up from $10 to about $12 an hour.

Besides talking about football the Republican Party side is starting to heat up between Donald Trump and Marco Rubio, they are really starting to get after each other….LOL. I never heard anything like it between the two of them, they are making fun of each others hands, faces, I am surprised Rubio hasnt talked about Trumps hair….. oops, just gave it away. I think Ted Cruz is trying to lay low and wait for some of the fireworks to settle down. Tomorrow is Super Tuesday and as of right now Donald Trump is running away with the field, alot of the critics say he will score big tomorrow. As of right now Trump has 86 delegates, the closet one to him is Cruz and Rubio with 17, and 16 respectively. The way it looks they say Trump is gonna run away with the delegates.

The other party on the other side of the fence, between Hillary and Sanders, listening to the radio today Sanders reports he took a big loss over the weekend, kinda sounds like he will not recover. Hilary is already taking shots at Trump, she sees that Trump is the front-runner and is already speaking out getting ready for a big verbal war. Well if Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton square off as one of my Chicago friends said, get the 3 D’glasses and start popping the popcorn because it will be a site to see of who will sit in the Oval Office for the next 4 years.

LSU Tigers Football 2016 signing class

LSU’s 12th signing class under head coach Les Miles was ranked as high as No. 3 by both ESPN and 247sports. The Tiger class picked up a No. 4 rating from Scout and a No. 6 ranking from Rivals marking the ninth time under Miles that LSU has had a composite Top 10 class nationally.

LSU’s class included three 5-star signees in cornerback Kristian Fulton (New Orleans, La./Rummel HS), defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence (Monroe, La./Neville HS), and cornerback Saivion Smith (St. Petersburgh, Fla./IMG Academy).

LSU’s class included 17 players from the state of Louisiana, three from Texas and one each from Alabama, Arizona and Florida for a total of 23 signees. Five of the 23 signees have already enrolled at LSU and will participate in spring practice, which begins in March.

LSU’s five early enrollees include Smith, wide receiver Dee Anderson, linebacker Michael Divinity Jr., wide receiver Stephen Sullivan, and running back Devin White.

The Tigers signed 10 players on offense, 12 on defense and one kicker.

On offense, the Tigers signed four offensive linemen, including the nation’s No. 2 rated offensive tackle in Willie Allen (River Ridge, La./John Curtis) and the second-best offensive lineman in Louisiana in Donavaughn Campbell (Ponchatoula, La./Ponchatoula HS). The other two offensive linemen to sign with the Tigers are Lloyd Cushenberry III from Dutchtown High School and Jakori Savage from Bay Minette, Ala.

LSU added three wide receivers, one quarterback, one running back and a tight end. LSU picked up both Louisiana’s top running back in White, who accounted for over 5,000 yards and 80 touchdowns during his career, along with the state’s top quarterback in Zachary’s Lindsey Scott Jr. Scott led Zachary High School to the Louisiana 5A title this year and was named the most outstanding offensive player in the state.

Miles called LSU’s group of wide receiver signees – Anderson, Sullivan and Drake Davis – one of the best at that position in the country. Sullivan was listed as the top receiver in Louisiana and No. 7 nationally, while Davis was ranked No. 19 nationally at his position.

Jamal Pettigrew, a versatile 4-star product from St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, is the only tight end in the class.

Defensively, LSU signed five defensive linemen and five defensive backs along with a pair of linebackers. All of LSU’s 5-star signees are on the defensive side of the ball – Lawrence, Smith, and Fulton.

In addition to Lawrence, other defensive line standouts signed by LSU on Wednesday include Edwin Alexander, a 4-star from St. Thomas Aquinas in Hammond, La.; Andre Anthony, another 4-star product from Karr High School in New Orleans; Glen Logan, the nation’s No. 69 overall rated prospect out of Destrehan High School; and Caleb Roddy, a 3-star from Denham Springs High School.

Divinity Jr., who is ranked No. 46 overall nationally by ESPN, and Rahssan Thornton, a 4-star product from Shoemaker High School in Killeen, Texas, are the two linebackers in the class.

LSU’s already outstanding secondary got that much stronger with the addition of 5-star cornerbacks Fulton and Smith. They are joined by safety Cameron Lewis from Wossman High School in Monroe, La., safety Eric Monroe from North Shore High School in Houston, and cornerback Andreaz Williams from Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport.

LSU’s lone special teams signee was 3-star kicker Connor Culp from Phoenix, Ariz.

LSU’s 23 signees will add to a Tiger roster that will feature 19 scholarship seniors and 18 returning starters in 2016. LSU, winners of its last two games to finish 9-3 overall in 2015, opens the 2016 season against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisc., on Sept. 3

Alabama beats Clemson 45-40 for the National Title Game 2016

Well college football fans the season has come to an end once again and Alabama Crimson Tide has won the National Championship once again as they beat the Clemson Tigers 45-40. A good game indeed and it look like Clemson was gonna go up 21-7 on Alabama after DeShaun Watson threw 2 touchdowns to Wr Hunter Reinfrow. Clemson qb Deshaun Watson has 405 passing yards and 4 tds, and 73 yards rushing, something that Alabama Defense struggle with the whole night. The biggest surprise of the night was O.J. Howard 5 rec and 208 yards and 2 tds and the Clemson defense had no answer for the 6’6 tight end. Twice Howard caught the ball and scamper into the endzone. Alabama Derrick Henry had a good game 36 carries 158 yards and 3 tds, and his first touchdown Derrick ran right up the middle for a long touchdown in the first quarter. Qb Jake Coker had a rough first half, sitting in the pocket dancing around and then getting sacked, not a good situation, Coker still threw for 335 yards and 2 tds.

The two special team plays bailed out Alabama, the 95 yard kickoff return by Kenyan Drake and then the onside kick that changed the game when Nick Saban decided to do an onside kick by Adam Griffith as Marlon Humphrey caught the kick over the 50 yard line, it look like a pass to Humphrey. Clemson had busted coverages all year-long, you cant have busted coverages and win the game, you cannot bounce back from that even if you have a DeShaun Watson. Watson had the better game then Henry, I would say Watson was the better player of the night, they could not stop this fellow, the best Defense in the country could not stop DeShaun Watson. Clemson QB Watson scooted pass Alabama’s D plenty of times, he would run around in the backfield and scamper off 10 yard runs. DeShaun Watson will be the next biggest quarterback in the NFL, the QB is that good, he had Alabama defense on their heels the whole night, if it wasn’t for the 2 special team plays by Alabama, Clemson could have won this game. Clemson Coach Dado Swinney did a good job of coaching as Clemson could have pulled off the upset, funny Clemson no.1 in the nation for a while, but was the underdog vs Alabama in the National Championship Game.

According to David Pollack Clemson could of won the game if Clemson would have scored a touchdown, but they had to settle for a field goal. The biggest keys of the game that won the game for Alabama was special team plays and the Clemson Defense leaving O.J. Howard wide open changed the face of the game that led to Alabama to a National Championship. Alabama Coach Nick Saban has won his 5 national titles, his 4th Natty with Alabama in 7 years which is very dominant. In the last 8 years Saban is the best coach of all time, even Bear Bryant didn’t win 4 titles in 7 years, that’s alot of titles and a very dominant Football Program. Clemson deserves alot of credit as they put up a game because they did have the Alabama D on their heels, the only team that did that the whole season was the Ole Miss Rebels, which they won the game. The Alabama Crimson Tide are no.1 in college football again.

Chip Kelly visits the University of Alabama

Former Eagles Coach Chip Kelly takes a visit to Tuscaloosa. I believe after Nick Saban wins his 5th National Championship since 2003, that would be 5 National Titles in 12 years, the most dominant coach since Paul Bear Bryant who won 6 National Titles and 3 of those titles were un contestant .I think from a personable level Nick Saban will go to the NFL and Chip Kelly will take over the Crimson Tide. Heck even when Alabama is not playing football they still score. My goodness, Chip Kelly and Lane Kiiffin together, amazing, if they cone together they will light up the whole SEC. According to reports Nick Saban will head off to the NFL perhaps to the Big Apple to make 10 million a year and incentives.

College Football teams are bowling into the New Year 2016

The Bowl season has been going on and there are alot of teams that look really impressive, a signature win for Alabama beating Michigan State from the Big 10, Colin Cowherd’s team 38-0, saying Alabama is done. I think Cowherd should probably talk about the NBA and MLB from now on. Ole Miss took care of business beating Oklahoma State 48-20, Ohio State was impressive vs Notre Dame 44 to 28, some say Ohio State should have been in the playoffs but they should have beat Michigan State at home. LSU clubbed Texas Tech 56 to 27, Fournette had 212 yards and 4 touchdowns, as LSU finally scored some points. It was the first time LSU scored alot of points since they play WKU, the big question is why does Coach Miles wait til the last game of the season to open up the offense, where are some of those plays vs Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss? California beat Air Force 55 to 36 in a high scoring game, Jared Goff threw for 6 tds and 497 yards at Aaron Rogers Alma Matter, so look for him to do well in the NFL. Dak Prescott finished off his college career as Mississippi State blasted NC State 51-28, as Dak threw for a Belk Bowl Record 380 yards and 4 tds. The Florida Gators didn’t show up as they lost to Michigan 41-7 in the Citrus Bowl.

Clemson silenced the doubters as they beat Oklahoma 37 to 17, as QB Watson threw for 187 yards and td, and rushed for another 145 yards, and td. they get ready to prepare for Alabama in the Championship Game sitting at no.1 in the nation at 14-0. Stanford beat Iowa 45 to 16 as the Cardinals were up at 38-0 at one point in the game, Hesiman runner-up Christian McCaffrey had 350 all-purpose yards, 110 on rushing, 100 in receiving and a td, and 105 in kickoff returns and a td. Some say the voters on the central time and east coast time casted their votes before McCaffrey had his biggest production of the season in the PAC 12 Championship Game which he had 465 all-purpose yards added 2 tds, and even threw a touchdown pass. McCaffrey broke Barry Sander All Purpose Record in a season. Auburn demolished Memphis 31-10, you thought Memphis would show up for the game who beat Ole Miss is the regular season. Tennessee manhandled Northwestern who beat Stanford in the regular season 45-6. Arkansas is beating Kansas State right now at 31- 20. Georgia stopped Penn State 24-17, Utah knocked off crosstown rivals BYU 35 to 28. Holy Toledo beat Temple 32-17 as Phillip Ely threw for 285 yards and 2 tds. Wisconsin upsets USC 23-21 in the Holiday Bowl , Oregon plays TCU today as TCU will be without Trevone Boykin their qb, for sneaking out after curfew to go have some more beers, gets in a fight and punches a cop on the way out of the Bar. The starting qb received a 3rd degree felony, was escorted out of the bar by police officers because some fans were trash talking Boykin, and the officer was about to taser Boykin before he punched the officer. Well its been a lot of good football so far, but if you are not in the playoffs it’s just like playing another game. If you are keeping score the SEC is winning the most in bowls right now, every team has won so far besides Texas AM, and Florida, so that should give you a clue who is the better league, and looks like Alabama will take it all this year as they play the Clemson Tigers for the final game of the season.

Les Miles ‘is LSU football’ according to LSU Senior OT Vadal Alexander

What happen here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana the week before the LSU and Ole Miss game, there was a hunch to get rid of Les Miles. According to the reports around Baton Rouge, someone from a LSU Source spoke to Scott RABALAIS of the Advocate to write an article about Les Miles Job security and being on the hot seat for the next couple of games. Les Miles was supposed to win the next 2 games to keep his job. Well, LSU tried to make a game of it vs Ole Miss, stayed in the game, at 24-17, but Ole Miss went on to score 2 more touchdowns to put the game out of reach as the Rebels won 38-17.

Now the reports started to circulate in the newspapers and on ESPN that LSU Coach Les Miles will be coaching his last game vs Texas AM. The rumors started heating up and LSU Joe Alleva , F. King Alexander and the LSU Boosters exchanged 2,000 emails about deciding their future coach.

The papers reported that Joe Alleva was in touch with Jimbo Fishers agent Jimmy Sexton the week of the LSU vs Texas AM game, trying to work out a deal with Fishers agent, known as the most powerful man in College Football. Yes Jimmy Sexton is the agent for Jim Mora- UCLA, Jimbo Fisher- FSU and the Nick Saban- Alabama, the most successful coach of NCAA Football in the last 8 years. During the week reporters asked Joe Alleva if he would comment on Coach Miles future job, but Alleva said nothing, not one word.
Basically Alleva and Jimmy Sexton couldn’t come to a conclusion on the numbers, and all the newspapers are talking about Les Miles getting replaced, and will be asked to step down after the Texas AM Game.

Everyone knew it was gonna happen even at the Les Miles luncheon on Monday you could here a pin drop as Coach Miles walked into the room of the local media who wrote all the rumors about Miles soon to be vacancy.

I remember Coach Miles going thru the luncheon trying to answer all questions but told the reporters I have 2 minutes for you if you don’t ask questions about the upcoming game. Well what do you know the next 7 reporters asked questions like, will this will be your last game as the LSU Coach ? Coach Miles address them saying I have not been told either way, or been contacted by Joe Alleva. The Press Conference went on and Miles once again told the Press I will address any questions other than my job, and started talking about the post game of the Ole Miss Game, and talked about the up and coming Texas AM Game. Scott RABALAIS was quiet as a mouse, and did not ask one question during the whole luncheon.

Even during the TJ Ribs where Les Miles shows up once a week for a chat with the fans, all the fans were saying their goodbyes to the coach.”Some live questioners were brought to tears at the event at TJ Ribs on Acadian Thruway. Sadie, a weekly caller, traveled from Texas with her family to the show. During the live question segment, Sadie began crying while asking Miles a question about the offense. He reached his arms out for her, pulling her onto the stage, where he spoke to her face-to-face to console knowing he didn’t have any answers.

As Saturday approached and the LSU Football Team walked down Victory Hill, all the fans consoled Coach Miles with cheers and signs telling Coach Miles they love him and he had been a great coach. The Stadium was rocking before the Texas AM vs LSU Game, and it was LSU Senior Day, as LSU worked out before the game Shaquille O”Neal was on the sidelines taking pictures with everyone. As the LSU Seniors was lining up Coach Les Miles came out to take pictures with them, the crowd erupted for appreciation of Les Miles, he came out and tip his hat to everyone like he was Joe DiMaggio at a New York Yankees Game at Yankee Stadium. I never seen anything like it, it was amazing. Covering LSU Football for the last 3 years on the sidelines and to see this was amazing, I never experienced anything like this to see a Coach get so much appreciation from Tiger Stadium, even if you were a Texas AM Fan you were cheering for Coach Miles.
The game went on as LSU won 19-7 in dominant fashion, and in the 1st quarter I saw LSU President F. King Alexander walk by on the sidelines and starting heading towards the LSU Football Team like he was gonna go talk to Coach Miles, because up and til this time Coach Miles thought this was his last game as LSU Coach. Then I saw King Alexander go up to his private suite. LSU went on to win the game, and the players carried Coach Miles over to the LSU Student Section to sing the Alma Mater Song, it was an emotional time, very amazing. Then Coach Miles got a message from LSU F. King Alexander and AD Joe Alleva to remain as Coach for the LSU Tigers.

Stanford Chrisitian McCaffrey surpasses Barry Sanders, could be the front runner for the Heisman.

Well, Leonard Fournette will not be going to New York this year to compete for the Heisman Trophy. LSU Fournette was not invited, but he finished 3rd in rushing behind Alabama’s Derrick Henry and Christian McCaffrey, at 1,747, 2 games less than the top two finishers. I must say Henry did not play against the Alabama Defense so there’s an extra 200 yards that Fournette missed out on. I am not knocking McCaffrey or the PAC 12 but the Pac 12 does not play alot of defense, and the ACC doesn’t play defense as well, Exhibit A, Clemson giving up 37 points to North Carolina, in the ACC Title Game, the last 5 games Clemson’s defense has giving up 35 points per game. Fournette should have been invited because of his 1,747 rushing yards, and 18 touchdowns. McCaffrey has good rushing yards, but he has only made it into the endzone 8 times, also DeShaun Watson is not even a top 10 quarterback with his stats, actually he is no.16th in the Nation in passing. I believe overall Henry will win but Fournette is a better Heisman Candidate than DeShaun Watson, both the ACC and Pac 12 gives up alot of yards and do not play defense. Christian McCaffrey does hold the record for all-purpose offense yards with 3,250, who eclipsed Barry Sanders. If I had to pick a winner I am gonna go with Christian McCaffrey to win the Heisman because he surpassed Barry Sanders of all time purpose yards.

Suspense and Drama this week, as LSU beats Texas AM 19-7

Coach Miles is the hero of the day and LSU beats Texas AM 19-7 as he remains Coach of the LSU Tigers. The whole Les Miles Saga was on the loose this past week in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, but Coach Miles has handle the whole situation like a gentleman and a professional person. Coach Miles went throughout the whole week not knowing if he would still be the head coach at LSU. I remember sitting in the Les Miles luncheon last monday afternoon and you could here a pen drop when Coach Miles walked into the room. The thing is LSU won satuday in complete fashion as they beat Texas AM 19-7 and it was not pretty for the AM team. I Uber on the side, and I drove some fans from Lawerence,Kansas to the airport who were sitting up in the 600 level, they witness the Texas AM fans throwing popcorn at the LSU Fans late in the forth quarter I guess they were just alittle upset of the outcome of the game. That was not the only thing fans were throwing, after LSU scored a few times the students kept throwing yellow towels that were rolled up in a ball, and one hit me right on the side of the head about 40 feet up in the stands.

Leonard Fournette ran for 159 yards and a touchdown. He finished the game owning LSU’s single-season rushing record at 1,741 yards, surpassing the mark of 1,686 yards set by Charles Alexander in 1977. Darius Guice had a big night as well 10 carries 73 yards and 1 td, and a 50 yard scamper, and returning kickoffs he had 2 kickoffs for 97 yards, and a 75 yard scamper as well. Guice is a true freshman and will make a big impact in the bowl game and the next up and coming years at LSU. QB Brandon Harris is coming along but needs to bring his passes down, and make some touch passes to the wideouts, and made a good throw to Fournette to lead him down field. If LSU does that in the bowl game and next year with Fournette paired with the running game, they can be very dominant.

Fournette said ,”These last three weeks will help this team grow and help us grow in life. I can say this has been one of the longest three weeks in my life. It was hard for everybody, referring to the speculation of Coach Miles. LSU players didn’t find out until word began circulating about Alleva’s announcement. Tigers senior right tackle Vadal Alexander said he found out when he got a text from his parents and just smiled.

Shaquille O’Neal even showed up for the LSU vs AM game hanging out on the sidelines rooting for Coach Miles, I even got a selfie with Superman and had a few conversations, it was a funtime on the sidelines for sure. Everyone in their mom wanted to take a pic with Shaq, they were coming from everywhere….lol. Shaq stood there and watch the game and look like he was having a great time.

Well, as of right now Coach Miles is preparing for their bowl game and that’s the way it’s suppose to be. Everyone came out to the game to cheer on the Tigers and Les Miles on senior night and the LSU Football Team did not disappoint as they dominated the game.

ESPN Analyst Desmond Howard had a say on Coach Miles at LSU, “He’s not coaching for his job,” Howard said. “He’s going to be the coach in 2016. I think this is actually to try and set him up and put him on the hot seat for 2016 so you try to get those rumors and things of that nature going right now. I think that he’s OK.”
SEC Nation’s Tim Tebow faced Miles on several occasions when he was the quarterback at Florida. He said firing Miles could haunt LSU down the road.
“They were No. 2 in the country two weeks ago,” Tebow said. “To have people out there saying they need to get rid of Les Miles, guess what if they do, he’s going to go to a rival school, and he’s going to win there and probably go back and beat you… People need to stop worrying about instant gratification.”
LSU could be known for as the University that lets go coaches to other rivals and the coaches comeback and beat them pretty good.
