I am sure alot of fans would have like to see LSU vs McNeese State but it wasn’t in the cards as a really bad rain storm came thru Tiger Stadium in the beginning of the 1st quarter. The Tigers and the Cowboys both had the ball an punted as their was lighting notice in the sky, and the weather delay started. Both talked about coming back on the field but the lighting would not permit the game to go on. Basically rule of thumb when lighting strikes in the air you have to wait another 30 minutes to clear up, but it kept lighting every 10 minutes which prolong the game to about 10pm, but it kept lighting so they kept pushing it back and back, Then A.D. Joe Alleva decided to go ahead and call the game as it was past 11pm. The two teams thought about playing on sunday the following day but it was just a discussion talk, and McNeese State didn’t want to stay overnight in hotels, A.D. Alleva basically said their staff could not accommodate the following day because it would have been too much work to set up again for the following day. For LSU it’s on to next week to prepare for Mississippi State which will be played in Starkville, Mississippi. McNeese State goes on to play UIW Cardinals for their 1st home game.
