As predicted U.S.C. almost pulled off the upset of the year, but Andrew Luck guided his team to tie up the game before regulation to send the game into overtime. U.S.C. had a chance to kick a winning field goal but the clock ran out before U.S.C. Robert Woods tried to get out of bounds. The game was almost over as U.S.C. Nickell Robey intercepted a Andrew Luck pass and ran it in for a touchdown with about 3 minutes to go in the game. Stanford got the ball back and starting driving, but had a 3rd and 9, and the end of the game near, then Luck threw the ball down the field, the Stanford receiver drop the ball, but he got clocked by the U.S.C. satefy, the Refs changed the game forever by throwing a flag saying the safety hit the reciever without protection, now where is that in the rule books, you drop the ball you get hit, thats it, even in the old days thats what happen, you are gonna get clocked either you catch the ball or not. The Zebras changed the game thats for sure, giving Stanford new life and a 15yrd penatly, as Stanford went down the field to tie the game. My prediction was right on the money as U.S.C. had the lead with 2 minutes to go and Stanford was about to lose the game, oh by the way Stanford’s strength of schedule 92 in the nation, thats pretty bad for a no.4 team in the country, basically they played two tough teams the whole year, U.S.C and Oregon thats about it, Oregon Game is coming up. Stanford tied up the game in the second overtime, field goal kicker Michael Biselli almost miss the extra point, that would have been a big celebration for the Trojan fans, the kick skimmed right over the cross bar, if a U.S.C defensive lineman would of jump up he would of knocked the ball down, that would of been a hoot. Stanford got the ball back in the 3rd overtime, march down to the goaline as Taylor ran in from the 5 yard line, and with the 2 pt conversion. U.S.C. got the ball back and on the first play Barkley threw the ball down the field as U.S.C settle on the 4rd line, and the next play McNeal who had a big game, 2 tds, over 140 yrds of rushing, fumbled on the next play 4 yrds from the endzone as a Stanford defender recover the ball in the endzone for a touchback. A great game it was, but a few minor details changed the game. Stanford will slip a few notches for almost losing to a unranked team, but Stanford needs to shape up its defense, as the Oregon Game approaches. A great game for sure as U.S.C almost tumbled Stanford’s National Title, but Stanford stays alive for the trip to New Orleans.
