Saturday morning approach as I drove down to the Elmhurst College were students tailgated in the parking lot. A particuliar fraterity”Lamba Chi Alpha” stayed up all morning, 3am to be exact, roasting a pig, which I got a chance to taste the fraterity’s cooking and it was excellent. The tailgaiting was alot of fun, it reminded me of my past L.S.U. and U.C.L.A. Football Games, very fun atsmophere with the Elmhurst Students. It was a windy day as Elmhurst College took the field, and the Alumni’s having a beer or two in the tents by the football field, as they enjoy the day of Homecoming. The Titans were a undefeated team coming in at 5-0 and Elmhurst was coming off a lost to Wheaton College. The game started out with a bang as Elmhurst march down the field, but ended in a stalled drive, they pick up a about 3 first downs, but had to punt the ball. The Titans got the ball, and in a few plays put the ball in the endzone, on a deep route pass over the middle for a touchdown,as Rob Gallik found joey for a 58 yrd score. Elmhurst College march down the field as it stalled and settle for a 40 yrd field goal by Spaulding, the Titans march down the field again, as Galik scooted in the endzone on a 3 yrd run, which this year is his first year to play football. Elmhurst struck back to make the game 14 to 9 as Payton hauled in a 14 yrd td from Joe Furco. The two teams went into halftime to take a break, and as the 3rd quarter started, Elmhurst march down the field again but had to settle for a 32 yrd field goal by Spaulding. The Titans got the ball again and march down the field for there final score, on a 2yrd pass from Galik to Musselman. Angelos kicked in a 43 yrd kick for the Titans next points as the game ended 24 to 12. The next game for the Bluejays is Millikin University in Elmhurst, they have the same record as the Bluejays, so perhaps we are gonna see the Elmhurst Football team explode off their last 2 losses. If you know Tim Lester he’s gonna throw the whole play book at the Millikin’s Fottball Team. I would say its gonna be a high scoring game for Elmhurst, and they will take out their frustrations on Millikin. Expect Scottie Williams to have a big game, and Spaulding will get a full days of work on saturday.
