LSU looks to bring their own tune to the Music City Bowl vs Notre Dame.
John Diarse and the LSU Tigers hope to have some tunes for the Music City Bowl as they take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. LSU wants to run the ball and hopefully air it out for Diarse, Dupree, and Dural because the Irish Secondary is very predictable and had a hard time against USC. If LSU borrows some notes from the USC Offense they will see Notre Dame secondary gets lit up USC qb Cody Kessler as he threw for 372 yards, and 6 tds passes. Talk about a passing attack on the Notre Dame secondary.
I am sure Les Miles and Cam Cameron might incorporate some of the USC plays. The Tigers will probably pound the ball as well with Leonard Fournette, Terrance Magee, and Kenny Hillard. I hope they mix it up with some passing and just let it all hang out and throw the ball down the field. If that’s the game plan LSU can give the defense a big lead so they can put a stop to the Notre Dame Offense which has had its struggles the last four games. According to Irish Coach Brian Kelly he will use both qb’s Golston and Malik against the LSU Tigers. Dailycollegefootball.com got a chance to cover Elmhurst College for 2 years in the west suburbs of Chicago and made some trips over to South Bend back in 2012, before coming to Baton Rouge to cover the LSU Tigers and the SEC Football.
Dailycollegefootball.com will be at the Music City Bowl for updates on LSU as they take on the The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
LSU coach Les Miles tells radio show ‘I wish (Michigan) the very best’
Irish Coach Brian KELLY: Certainly excited about the opportunity to play such a great program in LSU. I know our guys were really excited about the news and the matchup we’ll have in the Music City Bowl. Playing in a great town in Nashville and in another NFL stadium really is an exciting opportunity for us.
Said Miles: “Very fitting end to a very quality season.”
The NCCA Playoff Committee rears it’s ugly head
The COMMITTEE of the NCAA Playoffs finally reared it’s ugly head as they laid out the playoffs for this season…… Alabama will play Ohio State….. and Oregon plays defending champion Florida State …….. now the problem with this…… and the committee has some explaining to do…… how can TCU move up from no.4 to no.3…….. and then get dropped to no.6 after the selection..….. why would they chose to do that…… is that fuzzy math……. kinda of like Bush Politics…… Fuzzy Math…… how could come up with that theory……. leaving out TCU……. I am sure TCU thought sitting at no.3 they were a shoe in after beating Iowa State 55-3……. very impressive. My question is how many members of the committee were from the Big Ten……. perhaps half the committee…… if so it explains why Ohio State sneak in with a win over Wisconsin 59-0…….. but Ohio State as 2007 will lose to Alabama, as they lost to LSU……. this game will be a blowout…. and no contest for the Crimson Tide…… Ohio State will lie down like they always have……… and even if they give Alabama a good game and try to make it close….. Alabama will still win…… all Ohio State can do is beat Alabama….. and then they can tell the whole world we told you sooooo…….. but I don’t see that happening. Oregon vs Florida State, good matchup……. could be a close game……
TCU trounces Texas 48-10
TCU Froghorns put on a clinic Thanksgiving Day as they beat the state rivals Texas Longhorns 48-10. Trevone Boykin passed for two touchdowns and ran for another, and TCU’s defense dominated the Longhorns and quarterback Tyrone Swoope, sending Texas to one of the worst home losses in program history. The win kept the Horned Frogs (10-1, 7-1, No. 6 in AP) in the hunt for their first Big 12 title. The question is whether it was impressive enough to impact the playoff standings, where they sit one spot out of contention for the national semifinals. “You want style points? The style points tonight were defense, turnovers, doing the things you needed to do,” TCU coach Gary Patterson said.
Today the Super Bowl Champions Pittsburgh Steelers Steel Curtain of 1974-75 will be getting together in Pittsburgh for their 40th reunion. I got a chance meet one of the Steel Curtain members Charles Davis, at a fine dining establishment in Houston,Texas about 3 weeks ago. Charles Davis did play at TCU as well, and I remember him telling me about when he played against Joe Ferguson who played college ball at Arkansas. Mr. Davis went on to say he was following Ferguson towards the sidelines and he knocked Joe out-of-bounds, both teams got really upset after the hit, and especially Ferguson as he came back and starting hitting his receivers for touchdowns and won the game. Mr. Davis also told me stories about how tough the Steel Curtain was and he mention names of Jack Ham, Jack Lambert, Dwight White, Ernie Holmes, L.C. Greenwood and Mean Joe Green.Everyone will always remember how mean Joe Greene was, but in the Coca Cola commercial he tosses the his jersey to the little kid after the game. I remember as a kid I was watching them on tv when they beat the Minnesota Viking and winning the Super Bowl 16-6. Fran Tarkenton was scrabbling all over the field trying to get away from the Steel Curtain.
I hope the Steel Curtain has a great time in Pittsburgh today, that defense had their way with ever one on the field back in the 70’s. Hats off to the Steel Curtain Pittsburgh Steelers.
LSU defeats Aggies and the 12 Man, 23 to 16.
LSU pulled out a victory on the road, and I am sure Les Miles could not be more proud of the football team. Texas AM scored the 1st touchdown and then LSU went to work and scored 20 unanswered points. Fournette tied up the score with a power run over Aggies db Matthews for 22 yard td. Then John Diarse caught a 10 yrd td from Jennings to make it 14-7, and Trent Domingue added a couple of field goals to put LSU up 20-7.
Texas AM did start a comeback with a field goal and td catch by AM Speedy Noles, to make it 20-17, the Aggies got the ball back after LSU went 3 and out. Aggies Qb thought he had a offside and a free play so he launch the ball down the field but Jalen Collins step into the long pass and picked it off to seal the game. As Jennings was starting to take a knee the 12 man started booing the Tigers for running out the clock. I must say being at College Station at Kyle Field was a fun experience the crowd was very loud, and the Yell Leaders were chanting and singing with the crowd the whole night. College Station a great place for football for sure.
LSU beats Texas AM 23-17 in a close 4th qt.
Odell Beckham Jr incredible TD Catch Giants Vs Dallas Greatest catch EVER
‘Odell Beckham Jr’ Odell Beckham Jr, Catch odell beckham jr one handed catch Giants Vs Dallas Greatest catch EVER! Amazing catch by Odell Beckham,jr, but is anyone surprised, he did the same thing when he played at LSU.
Arkansas beats LSU in the cold weather,17-0
Highlights of the Razorbacks beating the #17 Tigers 17-0. The Arkansas defense would hold LSU to a 123 yards of offense as they picked up their first shutout since 2006. The cold weather effected the Tigers. Arkansas faces Ole Miss this weekend.
LSU loses to Alabama in OT 20-13, a game for the ages.
LSU has a chance to play spoiler but it didn’t happen as they took Alabama to the wire and lost in OT, 20-13. Boy did the LSU Crowd roast Paul Finebaum at the SEC Nation on saturday in Baton Rouge. As a College Game Day fellow said on the sidelines after the game, Alabama and LSU are very young. The main thing is Alabama plays Mississippi State this weekend and that is probably gonna be the best game this season so far. Expect Dak Prescott ready for this game, and the Blake Sims to have a good game as well. I will say Mississippi State has the best front in the Nation on Defense, and will put pressure on Sims the whole day. I wonder if Sims flicker of the wrist passes will work against State’s secondary. I guess we will have to wait and see. I do see a high scoring game from both teams and not to much running of the football. If the Alabama Front on defense does not contain the Dak attack on the ground it could be a long afternoon. Alabama has receivers on the outside who can keep pace with the score. Cooper will have to have a big day for Alabama to win, he will have to do better than 83 yards which he produce against LSU. I would say LSU secondary did a good job against Cooper, State will have to do the same. In the playoff race Alabama has to win saturday to remain in the playoff hunt, if State loses they will probably drop to no.4 and still be in the playoff hunt. Depending on if Alabama and State wins out after this game, win or lose, both of them could still end up in the playoffs…… Florida State and Oregon will win out and will be in the playoffs.
Will Auburn move ahead of Florida State to no.2
This saturday LSU had a bye week, and they are getting ready for the showdown with Alabama. In the picture we can see Freshman Leonard Fournette dragging the Ole Miss defender down the field. Being on the sidelines you could tell the Ole Miss defense was small just like the Kentucky Wildcats and LSU matchup really well against Ole Miss especially when it came to running the ball. LSU offensive line push Ole Miss front four all over the field, but the LSU line was very big so that was a gimme. As we know Ole Miss got knocked off by Auburn last night 34-31 and the receiver for Ole Miss got his leg broken trying to extend a catch that look like a touchdown, but the ball was let go and Auburn recovered the ball in the endzone. The playoff committee knew what is was doing when they put Ole Miss and Auburn in the top 4, because they knew someone was going to lose the game, so that meant someone was gonna dropout of the top 4, so now it seems that Auburn will jump Florida State since they beat no.3 Ole Miss on the road, I would be surprised if the committee doesn’t put Auburn ahead of the Noles. The Oregon Ducks should slide into the no.4 position, so you got Miss State who struggle with Arkansas at home and did win 17-10 sitting at no.1, and I would put Auburn at no.2, Florida State at no.3, and the Oregon Ducks at no.4, I guess you could put Alabama at no.5 but that won’t last long because LSU will knock off Alabama in Tiger Stadium, actually the Tigers owe Nicky a loss in Tiger Stadium. So there you have it football fans, and all the Georgia Fans thought they would be in the playoffs, just say I told you so, the SEC East is not that strong. I was impressed with Florida knocking off Georgia, especially with all the bulldog fans talking like they were gonna win the SEC Title and go to the playoffs and face Alabama in the finals……. well we all wake up and small the coffee, even Georgia Fans wake up.
Homecoming Game for LSU ……. LSU beats arch rival no.3 Ole Miss 10-7
LSU Fournette warming up before the Ole Miss Game.

Bradie James and Billy Cannon being honored before the LSU vs Ole Miss Game, sharing a laugh before the LSU vs Ole Miss Game.

Billy Cannon Jr is honored before the LSU vs Ole Miss Game, in 1958 Cannon ran a punt return back and LSU went on to beat Ole Miss 7-3. Cannon shows up again and LSU beats no.3 Ole Miss 10-7.

A shoestring tackle brings down LSU Fournette, he would later go on to rush for 113 yards against the no.1 defense in the nation.

Coach Miles talks about a inverted call after rb Fournette picked up 7 yrds down to the Ole Miss 2 yard line, and the play was called back.

Mike the Tiger was trying to scare the Ole Miss Football team, BOO ……. I am sure Mike left that up to the LSU D, as they scared Boo Wallace into a bunch of over thrown passes.

LSU pays respect to Bo Rein and Suzanne and her mom. Suzanne was married to the late Bo Rein who died in a plane crash, he was the next coach in line at LSU in 1980.

Ole Miss Bo was 14/ 33 for 171 yrds 1 td, and 1 interception against LSU….. Wallace was caught jawing with some LSU Fans during the game.
