Baseball Fans, Mississippi State and Oregon State has kicked off the College World Series, as the Bulldogs took the 1st game. The 1st basemen for the Bulldogs Rea is having a good day 2 hits, 2 RBI’s and 1 run scored. For Oregon State LF Conforto is having a big day going 4 for 4, 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Bulldogs closer Holder gave up one hit with 3 strikouts with the win. Indiana and Louisville are coming up for the night cap.

Indiana Advances To First CWS, and Louisville knocks off Vanderbilt in a sweep.
Indiana swept Florida State to advance to its first baseball College World Series in school history. Will Coursen-Carr move to 5-0 with a one earned run as Indiana went in to Tallahasse and swept the Seminoles. Sam Travis had a big day with 4 rbi’s, hit a rocketing missile off the scoreboard, and Justin Cureton had a big day as well 2 hits, 2 runs and 2 rbi’s, along with Scott Donley did the same 2 runs, 2 hits, and 2 rbi’s. Amazing effort from the Hoosiers who are known as a basketball school are heading off to Omaha for the CWS.
Vanderbilt Commodores who had a really good season got swept by the Louisville Cardinals in Nashville. The Commodores were suppose to have a rematch with the LSU Tigers, but thanks to Louisville knocking off Vanderbilt which ends their season, there will be no rematch. Congrats to Louisville who beat the Commodores as they swept both games, and will face Indiana whom they split in the regular season, in Omaha.
LSU Baseball smashed the Sooners 11 -1 to punch their ticket to Omaha
LSU punched their ticket to the College World Series with an 11-1 victory over Oklahoma. Dailycollegefootball.com will be
traveling to Omaha,Ne for the College World Series, it is gonna be a fun series especially with LSU there waiting for the other teams to punch their tickets as well. The UCLA Bruins are going to Omaha as well for the third straight year and
they will square off with LSU on the 15th or 16th. LSU pitching literally shut down the Sooners offense only letting them score one run in two games, and the LSU offense scored 13 runs in two games, 11 runs in the last outing. JaCoby Jones had a big day going 4 for 4, 2 rbi’s, and 3 runs scored, Ralph Rhymes had 2 runs and 2 hits, and Ty Ross had 2 hits, 3 rbi’s and 1 run scored as well with the offense attack from LSU. Mark Laird added a couple of hits and runs as well, Will LaMarche got the win as he went 3-0. The Tigers look ready to go to Omaha, now they are waiting on the other teams to close out their games. There has been a lot of rain over the south and east coast which post pone a lot of games friday night. All roads lead to Omaha the College World Series.

In 1959, Cannon led #1 LSU to a victory over #3 Ole Miss. The Tigers were trailing 3-0 when Cannon returned a punt 89 yards for a TD, breaking seven tackles. It was the only TD of the game, resulting in a 7-3 victory for LSU in Tiger Stadium. That year, Cannon won the Heisman Trophy and was again voted the UPI College Football Player of the Year|UPI Player of the Year

I met a few wedding parties this past weekend when I was visiting the Dunleith Inn, it’s a fun festive atmosphere and people from Louisiana enjoy coming to visit. I talked with a gentleman saturday at the Castle Pub who visited and decided to buy a house in the area, he is a retired FBI Agent. I would tell you what he said about JFK, but I will leave that story for another time.One of the main attractions is to rock on the rockers on the front porch, not a care in the world, just to sit there and rock…..

Pig out Inn has been around for 17 years in Natchez,Ms and the BBQ is great. I stayed in the hotel Bowie Inn, sister Inn, The Dunleith, everytime I went down to my car you could smell the BBQ in the air. I told myself I will go over there sooner or later, finally I strolled over had some ribs and they were awesome as they slid off the bone, and the BBQ Sauce was warmed in a bottle as they were served with every order. There’s Elvis Pictures, Muddy Water and BB King.They serve homemade curly fries too….. best BBQ in town, and for miles away. I took a pic as well of some local bikers in the neighborhood who were riding their bikes up and down the bluff nearby.

Coming back from the LSU Spring Game,spending 30 days in Louisiana,and being back in Chicago for a few weeks til the College World Series, should be a fun month. The site will be traveling to the SEC Media day as well so it’s gonna be a busy summer. I stopped by Natchez,Mississippi what a historical town that was, if you really like history that is the place to go, also it’s the hometown of Stevan Ridley, and after talking to some of the locals Mr.Ridley comes back quite often. SEC hires Herb Vincent from LSU
The SEC has hired LSU administrator Herb Vincent as associate commissioner for communications. The SEC announced Vincent’s hiring on Friday. Currently LSU’s associate vice chancellor for university relations and senior associate athletics director, he starts with the league in September. Vincent previously worked on the SEC staff from 1986-87 as assistant director of public relations. He has worked at LSU from 1998-2000 and again in various roles since 2002. In between, he worked as vice president for communications for the College Sports Southeast regional cable network. SEC commissioner Mike Slive says Vincent “brings a wealth of experience as well as energy and passion for the SEC.”He oversees communications, marketing and promotions for LSU, is the primary person with LSU Sports Properties and the department administrator for baseball.
