LSU Tigers gave a great effort last night as they almost handed Alabama their first loss of the season. LSU had Alabama on the ropes in Tiger Stadium. LSU who had the lead in the 4th quarter 17-14 driving down the field with 3:24 on the clock, as LSU was driving they stalled at the 28 yard line and the kicker came in to attempt a 45 yard field goal, basically if LSU would have punch the ball into the end zone they would have won the game, LSU Alleman kicker missed the 45 yard kick and McCarron got the ball back with 1:11 on the clock and starting driving down the field. McCarron and Bama were on a mission as they felt their BCS Title hopes and dreams slipping away if they didn’t finished this drive, but that was not the case as McCarron march down the field and Alabama scored the winning touchdown as he dumped off a screen pass to A.J. Yeldon for a 28 yard touchdown to give LSU their second defeat of the season 21 to 17. It was said so much during the off-season how LSU could not get pass they 50, basically it was the running joke on Facebook and every blog you could come across, not so last night as Zach Mettneberger threw for over 298 yards and a star was born. I am looking forward to see what Zach is gonna do next year, the last time LSU had a great quarterback at the helms, Matt Flynn, Tommy Hodson, and Bert Jones. Metenberger has proven to be an essential quarterback especially in a big game, Zach was 24/35 298 yards 1 td, and no interceptions.Landry caught a 14yrd touchdown in the end zone like a regular NFL receiver, and Jeremy Hill had the other touchdown for LSU also 29 carries and 107 yards, Hill has scored a rushing touchdown in the last 3 games and just a freshman. I wonder how the SEC defenses are gonna react to Hill next year once he gets some experience under his belt. I would say there are bright days ahead for LSU as they put there doubters to rest by last nights opponent. Alabama won the game but I think overall LSU has won some confidence and respect from the best team in college football. LSU showed everyone in the country they could keep up with Alabama. Landry and Beckham has good receiving for the night as they had 76 and 73 yards for each receiver. Drew Alleman was 1 for 3 so basically if he would have been 3 for 3 they would have beat Bama 23- 21, taking a look at the stats Miles should have took the points when it was 4 and 1 at the Alabama’s 24, if LSU would have took the 3 later on when they were on Bama’s 28 late in the 4th quarter they could have been up 23 to 14, game over. I am only a reporter not a coach, but everyone knows in a close game you always take the points. The LSU defense shut down Alabama in the last two quarters, McCarron did drive Alabama down the field in the 2nd half but Montgomery stripped the ball from Lacy and LSU recover the fumble to stop the drive. Give credit to the LSU defense for shutting down Alabama in the 2nd half until the last 1:10 of the game when McCarron and the Bama offense got really desperate to score a touchdown. You have to give McCarron credit because he made big time throws and guiding his troops down the field for the winning touchdown. If McCarron wins the BCS Title again this year I would say it would be time to enter the draft, why go back to school when you can go off to the NFL and play with the big boys. Let’s give credit to LSU because Vegas had them losing by 10 points.I did toot my horn about LSU pulling the upset, and I knew whoever took the points and took Bama lost their money in a big way. The way I see it now it looks like Alabama and Oregon are on a collision course in Miami. A complete Alabama team versus the Oregon high esteemed offense that cannot be stopped. That will be a complete classic matchup that will have the Pac 12 against the SEC. Kirk Herbstreit said in the video the reason why McCarron was crying in the end zone with his father because he was 5 plays away from sitting home watching someone else go to the BCS Title, basically LSU had Nick Saban and McCarron on the ropes. McCarron only had 96 yards before that last drive that 165 passing yards on the night.Yes Alabama escapes a shocker, and if Miles would have took the points in 3 trips inside the 25 yard line the score of this game would have been a lot different score actually the score would have gave LSU a 26 to 14 lead going late into the fourth quarter, but those are the breaks.Les Miles said in a post game interview he wished he could have had some of those calls back.Well, great effort Tiger Defense as you shut down one of the best offense teams in the country, and great job LSU offense as you score 17 points on one of the best defenses in the country. Hats off to McCarron as he look like Joe Namath driving down the field for the game winning drive.The Mad Hatter Les Miles almost pulled it off, man if Les would of won the game Louisiana would of made him governor of the state,well,we will get’em next year Les,keep up the good work.
Tiger Stadium, where dreams go DENIED, DENIED, DENIED
Hello, as the revenge factor sets in tonight in Tiger Satdium as Les Miles said dreams go denied, DENIED DENIED DENIED. I came up with an interesting fact, A.J. McCarron has never played in DEATH VALLEY, in Tiger Stadium on a satuday night. Well Mr. McCarron you are in for a rude awakening. I cannot believe he has never played at Tiger Stadium, interesting. I wonder how the front four on LSU’s Defense gonna act tonight towards the person the pocket. Amazing after LSU shuts down the run, and they can shut down the run, because they shut down Lattimore who is a lot better than any Alabama running backs. McCarron will have to pass, and we already know what’s gonna happen then.I can see Alabama has average 41 points a game but the teams they have played and scored 41 points on is a whole lot different from top 25 football. I must say they did put up 45 points against Mississippi State at home, but with the crowd in your corner,but other than that they haven’t played or beaten any worthy teams. Am I saying Alabama hasn’t been challenge, yep you can say that, and according to Les Miles the dream for Saban and McCarron to return back to the BCS Title Game, will be DENIED DENIED DENIED at Tiger Stadium tonight in Death Valley. This is a long and waiting moment for a lot of the LSU Players, coaches and Fans, when game time comes around I wonder how McCarron is gonna handle the LSU Tiger Crowd, much less the LSU Tiger front four Barkevious Mingo, Anthony Johnson, Kevin Minter, and Sam Montgomery. Folks this game is gonna go 15 rounds.
LSU TIGERS vs Alabama Cimson Tide showdown, less than 7 hours
Well the time is almost here where LSU will square up with Alabama on Nov. 3rd,2012, the must wait and see game by millions and millions of fans. They say some many scouts will be at this game, on the Paul Finebaum show a scout in the NFL said they could be at least 30 players on each team can be chosen in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd round, or be on a NFL Roster in the next draft, and up and coming years. LSU and Alabama for the last 2 years have been the creme of the crop for NFL Teams, and next year will not change. These 2 SEC Programs lead the country in a lot of stats. The biggest stat on saturday night will be who will win the game. See all those fans in the background behind the LSU Football Team they will have a lot to do with LSU’s success come saturday night and they are not coming to the game to give the Alabama Team a nice welcome. I think they will give the Bama Team a rude awakening when kickoff time comes. I know vegas has Bama as a 9 pt favorite, but I got LSU by a touchdown as they knock off the Crimson Tide, and shutting down Alabama’s running game. The reason is because Bama hasn’t played a lot of quality teams, on the other hand LSU has played 2 top teams in the country, South Carolina and the Florida Gators, do I think Alabama has been challenge this year or played on a top 5 level this year, I am gonna have to say no,but when they square up against LSU saturday night they will unleash the Tiger, wooooohhhhooooo, especially on defense, my my my. When McCarron can’t hand the ball off anymore, he will attempt to pass and then it’s all over as LSU’s defense waits as the front 4 of LSU’s defense front rushes McCarron and that offense line for Bama will not be able to protect him as the walls come crumbling down lie sand castles. I just don’t think Alabama has played a legit team yet, come saturday night they will get a different experience, kinda of when you drove to a party and you rode with your friends, you are gonna want to leave but you can’t because your friends drove the car, well I am sure Bama will feel that by the 3rd quarter especially with all the LSU Fans saying hello to them for 4 quarters. Charles Alexander will be honored at the LSU vs Alabama Game
Charles Alexander, a two-time All-American, will be honored at Tiger Stadium on Saturday night. The National Football Foundation, which sponsors the Hall of Fame, will present Alexander and LSU with a plaque recognizing his induction into the Hall of Fame during the LSU vs. Alabama game on Saturday.One of the greatest running backs in the history of the Southeastern Conference, Alexander put his name in college football history during a four-year career at LSU from 1975-78.
I remember watching Alexander as I came to LSU Football Games in the late 70’s and he was a all purpose back for LSU.I know with a piece of history coming saturday night with Charles Alexander will be at the LSU vs Alabama Game, it’s gonna be alittle different than the outcome of last year when LSU lost to Alabama 21 to 0. My My I am sure their will be alot of excitement from the fans, and I am sure Les Miles will not have to fire up the defense, just consider it done. I predicted Lattimore under 50 yards against the Tigers front four on defense,( Mr. Lattimore I hope you get well soon),now I will say LSU Defense will hold Alabama’s rushers to the same amount. I don’t see the Alabama running backs running on LSU’s D, so then they will have to starting throwing the ball, and Loston and Reid will sit back and play rovers in the outfield, not too mention the rush they are gonna put on McCarron. As Kirk Herbstreit was talking to Finebaum today he mention how awesome Alabama is and Finebaum being a Crimson Fan, was taking it in, but at the end of the conversation Herbstreet threw in how OSU could knock off Kansas State this weekend, USC could knock off Oregon, and all the LSU Fans knows what’s next, u got it, LSU has a good chance of knocking off Alabama to spice up the Gumbo pot in the BCS Title Game. I am calling it, I got LSU over Alabama in Death Valley saturday night. After LSU shuts down the run McCarron will have no where to go.I got a few more predictions, I got USC over the Ducks, and Oklahoma State over Kansas State……… 3 big upsets this saturday night.Thanks Herbstreit for the predictions. LSU Tigers Football Team are jumping for joy as Alabama Crimson Tide’s return to Death Valley
The whole LSU Tiger Football Team,awaits the Alabama Crimson Tide Nov. 3rd. Although LSU is off for 2 weeks to prepare for Bama, the Crimson Tide has to entertain no.11 Mississippi State before they travel down to play the Tigers in Death Valley. It’s kinda like deja vu, last year no.1 LSU had to play Georgia in the SEC Title Game, while Alabama waited for no.1 LSU to play in the BCS Title Game. Now no.6 LSU gets to rest, and no.1 Alabama gets to play the no.11 Bulldogs which are waiting to play some smash mouth football. This will be the 1st ranked opponent that no.1 Alabama has played since the 1st game of the year when they played Michigan without their star running back and defensive end. There is an old saying you are only good as your competition,hint, hint Alabama. On the other hand LSU has played the no.2 Gators, no.3 South Carolina, and no. 20 Texas Am. LSU lost to the Gators and beat the other two SEC Teams.
