Congrats to Robert Griffin III for getting the Heisman Award
The night I saw Robert GriffinIII play against TCU,the first time I ever seen him play in person, you knew it was gonna be a special year for him. Mr.Griffin normally goes to church on a regular basis, and is a very positive influence to his community and team. Congrats Mr Griffin, the Baylor Bears quarterback and thanks for being a good role model for the kids. 267/369 3,998 yards, 36 tds, 6 IT’s. what a great year for Mr. Griffin III. Mr. Griffin is very deserving for the Heisman.
LSU Football Team was elated to find out they will be playing Alabama for the BCS Title, this time its in the heart of the Bayou, …. New Orleans,La.
I want to give my congrats to the Alabama Football Team, who is deserving to face LSU Tigers in New Orleans, Jan 9th, 2012. Alabama is the no.2 team in the country and has a explosive offense and defense to really put up some good numbers. This will be a bigger scoring game than the first meeting 9-6, LSU. So football fans watchout for the fireworks. The announcer from ESPN asked Les Miles and the LSU Football Team what was there response when they heard that they will be playing the Alabama Crimson Tide, the whole place went stir crazy, that’s right College Fans, LSU Football team was elated to be playing Alabama again, lots of shouting and clapping. All I have to say is Nick Saban and Tide watch out, LSU hasn’t lost this season and I am sure they don’t wanna start now. I saw some stats on ESPN 164,000 people, 64% favors LSU,to win the BSC Title and 36% favors Alabama. OSU finished out a good year, and too bad they are not in there to play in the National Title Game, very deserving. I think the LSU Football Team is really fired up to play Bama, thanks ESPN for that clip of LSU’S Football Team with lots of excitement. Good luck to both teams.
The Day of Conference Championship Games has arrived……

Hello Sports Fans as we gear up for Championship weekend, I was talking to a fan in Panera Bread, and he spoke of some concerns I Had as well. How can a team go to a BCS Title Game if they don’t win there conference, Alabama? LOL, that’s why if OSU beats the Sooners tomorrow night, I believe from the past history of the BCS Teams that went to the BCS Title Game, if OSU wins they will be going to New Orleans. One because they won the Big 12, and have a identical record as Alabama, but would have won there Conference, just like LSU will have done after they beat the 10-2 Bulldogs tomorrow in the Georgia Dome. Sorry Alabama fans but if the Cowboys win they will leap frog into the Title game. One because you lost to LSU at home, and not on the road, and two LSU has already played and beat you, and three you didn’t play for the SEC Title Game. LSU already took care of business, they beat Alabama, beat them in the Denny Bryant Stadium. I say if OSU wins impressively they will be in New Orleans, and Virginia Tech has to win big, still has a outside chance as well, but Stanford is idle. I think LSU should play someone else and not someone from their own conference, let along a division foe. LSU did its job by beating Alabama so there shouldn’t be a rematch, and I am sure the Human Polls will take that in consideration if Hokies win, if OSU wins. To see LSU play against OSU would be a fun offensive and defensive game to watch. The reason why OSU will win tomorrow is because they haven’t played a game since the Iowa State loss, so they have took time to prepare for the Sooners, they could beat OU by 3 or 4 touchdowns just because of the emotion of losing to the Cyclones, and the Sooners are in the way of them winning their conference and going to the BCS Title Game.
The regular sports writers talk about possibly LSU losing to Georgia, they haven’t been watching LSU play this season have they………Georgia Bulldogs a hot team who hasn’t really played anyone since playing Boise State and lost. The Teams Georgia played as listed…..1.Boise State 35 to 21 L, 2. South Carolina 45-42 L, and then they beat 10 teams, Coastal Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Florida, Kentucky, and Auburn, you know they forgot to schedule LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas, well they get to play LSU tomorrow, but on their resume they played alot of powder puffs in the East SEC, actually every team was a powder puff, well they beat Auburn pretty good 45-7, but they barely beat Florida 24-20, but LSU and Alabama destroyed the Gators, or just say they played better that day against the Gators. The only thing the Dawgs have going for them tomorrow is that they will have a home crowd, but their schedule hasn’t prepared them at all, and the way these sports writers are talking about the BullDogs got a chance….LOL, we shall see. I see Mark Richt might be getting upset with Les Miles after LSU starts running up the score, kinda of like Bob Petrino last week. I never seen a College Coach get upset on National T.V. about another team running up the score. Oh, by the way Petrino, if I was a coach for the Ole Miss Rebels one day, just for keeps sake, I would run the score up on you too, if I have a chance to beat you 50-0 you better believe that’s what I intend to do, so my hats off to Les Miles. I remember the biggest thing about last year that a LSU Fan blogged about, they said one thing we miss about LSU Football, LSU doesn’t beat everyone by a landslide like we use too in the past seasons. Well LSU Fans the tables have turned, I believe Les Miles heard that comment and decided to take action and put the pedal to the medal, not too mention the clock management goes right out the door, no room for saying the clock ran out on Les Miles at the end of the game, not when you beat a team 41- 17. The only clock running is one in the coaches head across the sidelines yelling at Les Miles, saying, stop running up score……..lol. I think everyone knows my predictions for tomorrow, of course Oregon will win, OSU will win, give a nod to the badgers they get to play MSU again, and LSU will put a thump on Georgia tomorrow.
The Stats are looking good…… thanks to all…..

Alittle College Football, JFK, and Politics

I am gonna come from a different point of view today, I think if OSU, or Stanford finishes out on top, especially OSU, they have the right to face LSU in New Orleans. I am not take any-ones side, but for LSU to go into Alabama and beat Alabama, and to have to go play Georgia as Alabama sits home and waits for the BSC Title Game, I don’t think ‘that’s fair to LSU …..
A quote from John F. Kennedy: Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer but the right answer. … Folks its all about the right answer not what Gingrich says, its about the right answer and not taking jobs away from working families Janitors and giving them to high school students is not the right answer, basically our high schools would become McDonalds is that what Mr. Grinch wants, I mean Gingrich. I hope when we are voting for a new President in 2012 is not about the Republican or Democrat, its about who is gonna help the economy get better, say what they say they are gonna do, and stop raising taxes, and sipping on Lobster Bisque Soup, and having 1 million dollar plates for elections. Instead of giving Bank of America and the rest of the U.S. Banks 600 billions dollars, that same 600 billions dollars was the same money the banks earned in over draft fees, interest loan fees from foreclosed homes. I say give each citizen of the United States 1 million dollars and that only cost 300 million dollars, and take the rest of the 599 billion dollars and put it in the economy for new jobs. We as a government need to give back to the people instead of the politicians getting richer and everyone else getting poorer, and take 1 billion of the 599 billion left over and give it to the Small Business of America. This is not fuzzy math at all, its very easy to understand, even a caveman can do it. The neighborhoods is where its at in America because this country was started by small businesses and it will remain just the way it started. Another thing for a president to give a discount to mortgages under$ 625,000 before a reelection is kinda of cheesy. So folks you can see we need to seek out for the right answer not the Republican or Democratic Answer.
Chip Kelly Is Anything But Reckless
Calling Oregon head football coach Chip Kelly reckless is no different than calling Copernicus, Abraham Lincoln or Joseph Lister reckless. During Copernicus’ time, conventional wisdom was that the Earth was at the center of the Solar System. Copernicus, rather than accepting that common belief, decided to look into other possibilities and eventually proved that in fact the Sun was at the center of the Solar System.
Lincoln’s Emancipation proclamation, which led to the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States constitution which abolished slavery, was driven by his belief that all people are created equal, despite the previously long held belief that this was not true. Joseph Lister saved innumerable lives when he bucked the system and became the father of antiseptic surgery.
Now I’m not saying Chip Kelly’s work in football compares in the grand scheme of things to any of those men’s work, but it does share a key essential element with each one of them. The belief that the way things are done right now are not necessarily the optimal way of doing things. It takes someone willing to look outside the norms of whatever field they are in to truly make a transformational difference. It is in human nature to become complacent when comfortable. Thank God there are people around us, like the late Steve Jobs, who are able to overcome their wiring for complacency to challenge the status quo and help us move forward.
A vast majority of people tend to operate in two modes when norms are challenged, they either become dismissive of what’s new or different, or they overreact and call the new behavior reckless or silly. In the case of all the people mentioned thus far, I see anything but recklessness behind their behavior. All of them used empirical evidence and experimentation on the road to their conclusions. None of the above mentioned people were seen to be acting on whims, so how could their work be considered reckless? In fact, in all four cases I would suspect they took methodical routes to where they ended up.
Just like it is hard to imagine the Earth at the center of our Solar System, having slaves in our country or a high percentage of people dying during minor surgical procedures today. I imagine a few years from now, a lot of the behaviors that Chip Kelly is being called reckless for employing, will be the new accepted norms in football and those who are not practicing those methods will be the ones called reckless.
One of the things Chip Kelly has been accused of being reckless with is his propensity for going for it on fourth down which has earned him the nickname “Big Balls Chip.” But not only is he not the first coach to employ this strategy, even that nickname was stolen from Pete Carroll whose USC student body originated “Big Balls Pete” complete with juggling hand motions, for his propensity to go for it on fourth down years ago.
I would argue that Chip Kelly is still too conservative and still has more growth ahead of him. Going for it on fourth down is hardly reckless as UC Berkeley professor David Romer showed in his exhaustive study of the subject. In fact there is a high school coach (ironically also named Kelley but with an extra e) who since 2007 not only goes for it on EVERY fourth down regardless of field position, down or distance, but also always goes for two point conversions and onside kicks nearly as often as well. His record by the way, is 90-19-1 with two state championships and his team is currently ranked #1 in the state this season.
Despite all the overwhelming evidence about the soundness of these strategies, coaches not surprisingly (remember human nature; we are wired for comfort) have been slow to adopt them. On top of all the hard data supporting these strategies, there is a strong mental edge as well. When you know you are going to be using all four downs, it changes how your team perceives down and distance, and empowers them to open up the playbook even more (to the consternation of defensive coordinators). Success on fourth down is also a momentum changer, as teams who convert a fourth down tend to score on over 75% of those drives.
So the next time you hear a commentator question the logic of Chip Kelly’s play calling or call him reckless, remember at one time the conventional wisdom was that three yards and a cloud of dust was the best strategy for winning in football.
Happy Thanksgiving!

The Honey Badger for Heisman….LSU Tigers 41 Arkansas 17
Well, College Football Fans LSU done what they said they were gonna do, pound the football, and Tyrann Matthieu had a heck of a game, 92 yard punt return for a td, 8 tackles,2 force fumbles, one late in the game he recover and return for about 25 yards. Big day for LSU Tiger Backs,Kenny Hillard 109 yards on the day, Ford 92 yards, and QB Jefferson had 48 yrd TD run which he fake a hand off and went right up the middle untouch for 48 yrds, what a amazing run by Jefferson, and he threw for 271 yards, on 18/29 1 td . Jefferson controlled the game by a steady running attack by LSU, keeping Arkansas high power offense on the bench, but when it was on the field, LSU’s Defense was shutting them down. Arkansas only scored 3 points after they took a 14 to 0 lead in the 1st quarter. Amazing LSU came back and beat Arkansas 41 to 3. The Razorbacks lack fundamentals, mentally you have to be in the game to win the game, like they say in Golf, 99% mentally 1% talent. A championship teams beats you mentally before anything else, and Arkansas got beat like that today. Russell Sheppard had a big td catch for LSU as he scooted in the enzone on a 7 yrd grab. Ruben Randle had 9 catches for 124 yrds on the day. CBS put up some BIO stats of Spencer Ware, 6’1 275, that is a big full back, he had 37 yrds for 8 rushes. I remember late in the 3rd quarter Michael Ford raced down the sidelines and instead of getting more yards on a 45 yard scamper, Ford turn around and leveled 2 Razorback defenders like a bowling bowl. Bobbly Petrino accused Miles of running up the score, LOL, well what are you suppose to do when no.1 and no.3 get together, you don’t sit there and play with your kids toys, no, you put points on the board. The Hogs were pretenders, nice scare thats for sure. When the game was 24 to 17 LSU, and the Hogs got the ball back you thought we were in for a see saw battle, but LSU’s Defense stood the test. The only test for LSU would be a rematch with Alabama, in New Orleans, a home game for LSU. I know that will be a awesome game. To hold Arkansas to only 3pts in the second half says alot about LSU’s Defense, it doesn’t matter who they play, they know how to shut you down. Tyler Wilson great arm, Arkansas wide outs very talented and scary, but they ran into their match today. Well it will be a SEC BSC Title Game if Alabama wins tomorrow, they still need to take care of business in the Iron Bowl. I would say the best team to play LSU right now would be Alabama, what a game that would be, the Honey Badger needs to save a alittle for that game and return a few kicks for tds.Tyrann Matthieu for Heisman.
No.1 LSU Tigers set to take on the No. 3 Hogs……

Well College Fans the showdown has come, this the last game of the season for both teams, except bowl games of course, and if LSU wins they will be off to the SEC Title Game. I am so amazed by ESPN, they put so much hype on Arkansas this past week that you wouldn’t even know if LSU was even playing in the game, Arkansas this, Arkansas that, watch out for their receivers, now todays coverage is about their punt returner headlines on ESPN’s Website, if LSU puts the smackdown on the Razorbacks whats ESPN gonna say next, I don’t know, I guess they are gonna have to come up with another team to beat LSU, to hype them up as well. All this week I haven’t heard any coverage on LSU from ESPN I am amazed thats for sure. I do have respect for Arkansas, but come on you gonna talk about them the whole week…… you gotta give LSU some credit for being no.1 in the nation for the last 4 weeks and beating Oregon and Alabama this year, and might as well throw the Razorbacks in there too, we shall see……The only competitve game LSU had this year was Alabama, 9 to 6, and LSU took care of business in overtime. Good luck to both teams, and may the best team win. Everyone knows who ESPN is rooting for……LOL
Rivals school week coming up…….. Happy Thanksgiving ! Goobble Goobble
The rain is back in Chicago, it rains more here than it does in the south, but you know the rain keeps you inside thats for sure. I did see a runner today running out in the rain I believe it was about 45 degrees today, talk about discipline. Another person turn up missing today in the U.S., the blame, or suspect is Craigslist…… folks be careful, so if you decide to sell something make sure your neighbor cops are dropping by for a BBQ so there won’t be any problems with you and your buyers. I am starting to settle into the suburbs of Chicago, I want to give a shout out to Toyota Oakbrook, hope everyone made plenty of money on saturday and sold plenty of cars.
A big game coming up for 11-0 LSU Tigers on friday against the 10-1 Arkansas Razorbacks. I remember Arkansas came in Baton Rouge 2003 during thanksgiving and LSU gave them the smack down, the score was 35 to 17. The ESPN crew said Arkansas will be the toughest offense for LSU, thats funny cause I thought LSU played and beat Oregon, and I think LSU beat Alabama as well, whom Arkansas lost to, 38 to 14. I think LSU’s defense is comparable to Alabama’s defense so perhaps LSU will win by 38 to 21, yeah they can give them a extra touchdown that would be good.
I still remember going to a U.S.C.Football game in L.A. back in 2004 and the Trojans were playing the U.C.L.A.Bruins, U.S.C. was up 55 to 0, and U.C.L.A. just scored a touchdown to make it 55 to 7, the whole U.S.C. Crowd stood up and applauded, I never seen anything quite like that. This week U.S.C. and U.C.L.A. are getting together for there cross town rivalry on saturday, USC coming off a big win over the Ducks, 38 to 35, UCLA is coming off a win over Colorado 45 to 6, impressive wins by both teams, UCLA with a 6-5 record, USC has a 9-2 record.
Alabama goes down the street to play good ole Auburn for the Iron Bowl should be interesting to see what happens in that game, Auburn has dominated the Iron Bowl, they won 6 in a roll, Bama won two in a roll, and Auburn won again last year with Cam Newton with that amazing Camback by the Auburn Tigers being down 24 to 3. It would be interesting to see Auburn knock off Bama, again, and when the Razorbacks lose, that will throw all the BSC Polls in confusion again, and Stanford and OSU would slide into the no.2 and 3 spots. Its amazing to see the SEC with 1, 2, and 3 spots in the BSC Titlte Race, and the A.P. Polls, does anyone have a camera, after this weekend the rankings will change once again. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families…..
What a crazy weekend of College Football ……..
Well College Football Fans whats gonna happen next, everyone is losing except LSU and the the other 2 SEC teams, oh yeah Bama and Arkansas. LSU is the only undefeated team besides Houston, is there any worthy opponent for LSU. I have a friend who owns a Pest Control Company in Palm Desert,Ca called Turn of the Century Pest Control, Joe Aragon, he keeps shouting about U.S.C. saying how great and mighty they are the only team to compete with LSU, amazing, nope even good ole Lane Kiffin’s U.S.C. Football team couldn’t stop LSU’S progress. LSU is on a Vision Quest, they got that from Auburn last year as LSU lost by 7 points at Jordan Hare Stadium, nah I don’t think there is a team that can beat LSU this year, and that goes for Bama as well, and the Razorbacks will find out sooner than later that’s for sure. I think Arkansas is gonna get a rude awaken on friday afternoon when they roll into Tiger Stadium, LSU defense line will chase the Razorbacks QB around like a turkey shoot out, goobble goobble goobble….LOL. LSU’s secondary is second to none, they will shut down the Razorback’s receiving Corp. They never seen a defense like LSU, and the Tigers owe Arkansas from last year when they beat us 30 to 21, which LSU should of won that game, but mistakes were made. I am sure LSU still remembers that game since most of the team is back so its time for alittle payback. ESPN can go around talking about the Tie breaker in the SEC, but LSU will silence all the talk this friday with alittle pay back, 35 to 17 LSU over the Razorbacks.
I still remember when I stopped by my friends Lucas’s Ayala house in New Brunswick,Tx on the way to Dallas Tx to watch LSU vs Oregon, Lucas told me to stop by Rudy’s BBQ, so I did, I had some of the best Tasting Bbq, it was very good, in doing so I ran into a bunch of TCU and Baylor Fans, which Rudy’s BBQ happen to be in Waco, Tx, so I bought a ticket and went to the Baylor TCU game, it was alot of fun, and I sat with the Baylor’s Women Cross Country Team. Baylor went on to win the game 50 to 48. I can’t believe the Sooners lost again, and they lost to the Baylor Bears, and the Griffin Express Show. I had a chance to watch the Baylor Bears against TCU and that was a treat, I knew this was a special team after they dominated TCU and then came back to win the game; so its no surprise that Baylor beat the Sooners, with Griffin Express Show running the offense. Oregon was tooting their horn alittle too loud and looking past USC, just like the OSU team did, well if OSU wins out and beats the Oklahoma they might have a chance to jump Bama to get to the finals. Alabama has only Trent Richardson on offense that’s it. Alabama will bore you right down to the very end, they might win some football games but their rating are not so good. Their Qb McCarron is consistent and that’s about it, seeing a LSU vs Bama rematch, well I think Stanford, or OSU will give LSU a better game, besides Alabama already lost to LSU, they shouldn’t get another shot, go play in the Sugar Bowl Bama, you can still go to New Orleans, Bama might be looking past no. 24 Auburn, don’t do it Bama, then you will take a tumble out of the top 10. Well football fans what a weekend, we will see what happens this weekend, and may the best teams win…….. Happy Thanksgiving…..
Updates on College Football
LSU is pounding on Ole Miss, its 35 to 3 at the half, and being a LSU Fan for along time I never seen LSU beat up on Ole Miss for along time, and this is suppose to be a rivalry, well not tonight. LSU got two early turnovers and turn them into touchdowns, amazing start for the Tigers. Today Alabama’s defense didn’t show up, they gave up 3 tds to Georgia South, I know Bama didn’t struggle with them, but to give up 21 pts to a unrank team. LSU 42 Ole Miss 3, update USC 21 Oregon 7 half time……… N.C. State 37 no. 7 Clemson 13 big upset……… Penn State 19 Ohio State 10, TCU 34 to CSU 10, as TCU breaks the top 25 again…. the Razorbacks 44 MSST 17. I am amazed by the USC and Oregon game, if you told me USC would be up 21 to 7 at half time I wouldn’t believe you…… stranger things have happen, but this week folks is a week of the upsets….
